CA3.1 —Problem definition
Once I identified the problem, I began my persona. I picked Kevin, a school student at the age that the research found the most troubling and picked the rest of the info from the previous research.
Empathy map is an important way to portray the way the user feels, and given there is a lot of emotions, I wanted to group the data.
Storyboards
After these two, I wanted to better paint the picture of whats going on, so I created a few storyboards to help with this.
User Need Statements:
Kevin, a tech-savvy school student, needs to have more personalised, immersive and effective online support, in order to help with his mental health issues.
I picked out 3 key points from this to generate keywords I needed to focus on my solution:
Solution
Use VR technology to help students to be more immersive with the therapist in their own created personalised spaces, to create more effective treatments.
So, how do we go about creating more personalised spaces?
Lidar Scanner
Allows us to create a 3D Space of their office, or even their back garden.
How do we make the process more immersive?
VR View
The students are required to put on a VR headset with their cellphones. these are inexpensive and cheap to buy.
Putting it together, the student and therapist have a much more immersive experience, as he feels like its “face-to-face”.
Effectiveness?
Already, virtual reality therapy has been used in several specific conditions. These include:
